Season: Late-June - July

Natchez blackberries are very large, glossy, and jet black with a firm texture. They have a mild, lightly sweet flavor with low acidity and a smooth finish. Because of their size and firmness, they are excellent for fresh eating, desserts, and baking.

Picking Tips
  • Ripe blackberries loose their shine as they sweeten. For the sweetest berries look for berries will a dull, matte finish.
  • Pick berries that are fully black and come off easily with a light pull. If the berry resists, it is not ripe.
  • Place berries gently to avoid crushing.
