Season: Early October

These apples are gigantic! They’re often large enough to make a full meal out of one single Mutsu apple. They have a semi-sweet firm flesh that has a nice crunch, great for eating and baking. They are also know as a Crispin, which is their Americanized name, with Mutsu being the original Japanese name.

Picking Tips

Look for apples with the most color – Large bright yellow-green
Use both hands then lift the apple up and twist gently. A ripe apple will release easily with the stem attached. Do not yank the apple or fruit along the same branch will fall to the ground.
Do not climb the trees
Do not break, pull or shake branches.
