Chester blackberries are large, firm berries with a deep black color and good shelf life. They have a mildly sweet flavor with a slight tart finish. Their firmness makes them ideal for baking, jams, and taking home in larger quantities.

Picking Tips
  • Ripe blackberries loose their shine as they sweeten. For the sweetest berries look for berries will a dull, matte finish.
  • Pick berries that are fully black and come off easily with a light pull. If the berry resists, it is not ripe.
